Welcome to Day 7 of 12 Days of Christmas!
The holidays can be a tough time mentally for anyone. With the pandemic ongoing, some of us may have experienced tough challenges. We've decided to create a series of activities for everyone in the family to keep us emotionally balanced! Feel free to create your own twist or add to the activity!
Day 7: Play a board game, sport, or teach your kids a game you used to play as a child!
If you've been following our blog for some time, you know we are huge advocates for PLAY! Play is a crucial way that children learn important life skills needed in adult life such as social skills! A person with strong social skills manages social situations exceptionally well. They respond to the people around them reasonably with great respect. They're often diplomatic, calm, and collected.
Good social skills go a long way for children. They help to sustain friendships. As social interactions can sometimes be complicated, we need a way to strategize or know when to compromise to maintain positive interactions with others. Conflict resolution and empathy are examples of how this allows children to respond in an understanding and caring way to how others feel.
